Here we have presented a summary of the key reasons to choosing solar water heating. We would stress that solar panel build quality is very important, and can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Of course, this is reflected in price, but also in performance, and where performance is compromised for cost, so is the short and long-term payback of the panel.
The financial payback of the panel is not the only benefit of the panel, of course. The environmental incentives for choosing solar are very important too, but like
panel build quality, the efficiency of the panel to displace carbon can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. We ask that consumers be aware of the amount of carbon (in tonnes or otherwise) that their solar system will displace each year, and how much was produced to manufacture the panel.
